Romeo & Juliet Twin Cards

I greet you today with two cards made for a wedding occasion. This was quite a work-intensive project, it took me three days to finish them. This is because I was struggling to arrange the space... But let's start from the beginning. My customer's expectations were quite clear: A maroon colour mixed with gold, with a reference to an Indian vibe, as the bride and groom have just such roots. I hadn't yet done an assignment with such a style, so it took me a while to go through my supplies in the workshop in search of matching elements. The edges are sewn on the machine with my favourite stitch. The cards have hangers at the top with a delicate white ribbon. The main feature is, of course, the couples in love cut from the 'Romantic Moments' collection extras from Margaret Mycraftime. I've placed them on beautifully decorate...

DL Cards - One More Twin Set

Hi there! It seems I've got into the habit of making cards in pairs. This solution suits me very well and works fantastically for creating stocks. What's the deal with the stocks? Well. Most of the artworks are created in my studio for a specific commission, but I then try to do a particular commission twice. Sometimes I have trouble defining the style of my own artwork. I took the colour scheme from the ongoing Dusty Attic moodboard challenge on the blog. I think this palette is absolutely fantastic! Combining these colours has given me incredible satisfaction! As every month, I encourage all of you to take part in our challenge. All ...

Golden Wedding Scene - Twin Cards

Hi there! I'm delighted to show two bespoke cards today. Both are already pleasing the eyes of the bride and groom. The expectations of the client were not too complicated this time, I had to make sure it was stylish and elegant, 3D and with gold details. A pleasant assignment! Do you have your favourite kind of work? What kind of orders do you enjoy? I used a beige DL base on which I layered, with space between each layer, a gold frame and on top of this a white decorative paper with a very delicate pattern from Margaret Paper Design. I embossed the paper with a fantastic embossing folder, and further accentuated the pattern by applying a delicate gold wax from Sizzix. The paper is cut along the long edge, and I've incorporated a delicate white lace where it is cut - can you see what a great effect such a simple procedure has had? Naturally, I couldn't resist machine-stitching all the edges here. I made the large paper flower which is the central decorative element myself,...
